The
leaky fuel rails
Checked the oil system today and it pressurised fine so that's good. Then connected up the fuel system only to find that the unions leak ever so slightly so I'm gonna have to learn to TIG weld pretty quick to solve that problem!

Oh dear, shame dude
Also a shame that you couldn't go to the pod though, no body was representing the turbo boys on the strip

we're probably all to busy sorting out the last thing that broke!
Can't believe the answer to the leaking fuel was staring me in the face! All we needed to do was get some PTFE tape and that'd have solved it! Like a twat I've been trying to seal pressurised threaded unions with Hylomar!
Something for tomorrow, may get it running afterall!

Fuck yeah!
Bunged a bit of PTFE tape on the unions and that stopped them leaking, put the plugs back in and it started within a fraction of a second of the key turning before settling into a smooth idle
How's about that?!

spoke too soon, one of them started to weep eeeeever so slightly.
Still, it was a real boon that it started so immediately.
Quite jealous really as mine takes a good fews turns of the crank before it fires where as this had been standing untried for over a year and started better than my mums brand new Toyota!

Will find out when I take it apart tomorrow.
Think I really need to redesign the unions so that they have a proper sealing land but the PTFE got it going without incident

if you try a plumbers merchants they stock a paste thats fuel friendly, its used for sealing joints when you fit oil burning boilers. that would do the job if you cant find any other way. sorry i cannot remember the name
