I have looked into this and apparently the best 2 are the Jim Conforti Chip from Turner Motorsport or the EAT chip http://www.dsylva-tech.ca/ I am going to try the EAT chip. The US cars have the same comp ratio as the Euro cars on the M30. Sounds incredible but apparently these chips give between 25hp and 40hp gain.

These are no good for Euro cars as they fuel differently.
If you contact turner motorsport US they will verify for you.

In the pub maybe........these chips give between 25hp and 40hp gain
biggest flaw in the M30 is the lame camshaft grind, cam+chip= 40 bhp maybe, but no way from just a chip, no way no day, if it was that easy we'd all have one guys.
100% agreement with Enda, for $30 are you gonna really risk it going poop ?

You need mapping for UK fueling not U.S fueling.

For $30 bucks it will be a copy of the JC chip sold to whoever will buy with whatever story sells the chip.
Ask Ant off the forum, he will confirm, also email valentine@turnermotorsport.com who will confirm the same.
At a guess I would say your idle sits slightly higher, your fueling is around 4% @ tickover and 8% @ 3000rpm.

I was only quoting the figures that Turner Motorsport Give. Check it out at http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/su ... bcat_id=74
Can someone explain why the US cars fuel different when the comp ratio is the same and the ECU DME is the same.
Do the UK E34 535i use a Cat and Oxygen sensor?
The guy at EAT chips told me that the chip would work well with a Euro spec car.

its mostly due to the u.s emissions and the cat system bmws put on u.s cars....early u.s m30 motors with the motoronic only have 182hp/214ft lbs of torque as opposed to 218/hp for the euros
