The other day i was opening the bonnet and the bonnet release cable snapped! Does anybody know how i can open the bonnet so i can replace the cable? Can i just go underneath the car and find the bonnet release catch and release it with my hands or is there another way Thanks

There's a slot for a screwdriver behind the LH headlamp grill.

Patience or Dynamite winkeye

That's the only way that it'll ever open again. You should be able to access the release mechanism. If you have got a friend with an e30 look at theirs to see how it works with the bonnet open. This way you will identify what needs moving and what doesn't,

Otherwise post for more help and maybe a zoner in the area can help you out. :x [/quote]

As Brian says, it's begind the N/S headlight grille, between the kidneys and the main beam unit (one of Zappa's kids?).

Get a torch and you'll see the hole in the grille, 2nd one down I think.
