Hi all I've just started to dismantle my car to do the gearbox mounts, flexi disc, centre prop bearing and all the rear bushes. My question is do I need to put the vibration damper back on??? I've noticed that some cars do have them and others don't, my reason for asking is I'll also be fitting a B&M short shifter whilst under there and by not refitting it I'll have more room for the shifter linkage. Any help on this one much appreciated

My SE has no damper, neither did my sport for that matter and both were fully historied cars, Try it without dude and see how she is.
I wonder if these were retrofitted on some cars to help with minor driveline vibrations?? cant say I have noticed anything bad without on mine though
