need your help, I was one of those people who said "never had a problem with my electric hood" I have now, started a fe months ago , when openiong the roof the back raised the flap opened the back went down again, the whole roof should now start folding bak, but would noy ,if you pushed the front of the roof slightly it would work, did this for the summer, went to do the same but when I pushed the front of the roof nothing.... same on closing, i can operate roof electricaaly to raise and open flap so the motors and links are okay for them its the operation for folding and unfolding the roof into compartment that has gone , i can lift the roof out of the comp and fold it back, which points to the linkage being broken or disengaged, do not want to make it worse, any ideas I am in the heathrow area if anyone know of any specialists who could look at it otherwise need to staert saving up over winter to afford the dealer labour charges.
thanks
electric roof again

use the 'search' function at the top; there are lots of similar threads already on here somewhere
if you open the flap and get the hood 'base' up out of the way, you can see the top of the frame motor, and that should show you if the top has been torn out or not.

DaveD thanks phoned and went to Jason in Daralston, bit of a trek but well worth it, thought I would have to leave the car and wander around all day, but Jason knows his stuff, found fault in under 5 minutes, top rod was bent and the bolt that holds it to the frame had come loose fallen off, Jason stuck the rod in a vice and put a new on next to it got it spot on firdst time , all sorted roof works fine , also sorted out cig lighter blowing fuses without looking at it , even with the cost of Petrol it was worth it and cheaper than dealer, alsosaw a nice silver e30 he is butting a motor sport engine out of e36 in (i think) will use him again
