mine is very loud, but a very deep rumble that can set off car alarms 8) .although its of no relevance to the e30 engine but ive got a single 3" pipe from the turbo straight through to the back box with no centre box.i love to cruise at slow speed in a high gear just for the rumble followed by the loud hiss from the dump valve when i lift off the gas

My IS is quite loud but in a good way. Has a lovely metallic raspy rattle note when you put ur foot down. Similar to the new m3's tailpipe sound. Sounds great when you boot it. Has a nice throb at idle too. Its a powerflow backbox on it. Not too loud tho.

Well mine is what you would probably refer to as council or chav :D

Loud is not really what describes it, Fcuking Loud and your getting more to the point, Extremely Fcuking loud and you have hit the nail on the coffin so to speak :D ,

Ask Anyone  that has seen or heard the car from the zone they all hate it :D , it sets off alarms :D , scares people crossing the street :D , drowns out people with loud ICE, when you pull up next to them :D drowns out my own ICE :( , you cannot leave the engine running and have a conversation outside of the car :D , at petrol stations i have to switch the engine off at night when the shop is closed as the man behind the window can not hear what anyone is saying , the list goes on :D

straight through Powerflow twin pipe System, cheap as hell but sounds like it was born in hell!

Its GGGGRRRRRREEEEEAAAAAAAATTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

i welded up a strait through muffler in place of the rear muffler. it goes 2 into 1 which is a bit odd but has a 3 1/2 inch dump pipe on it. you can hear it at low rpm from about 3 blocks away but in the car with windows up isnt too bad. the other day i set off 3 car alarms in a row. i guess you poms would call it "chav" most people just call it offensive. my mate gets in the other day n looks at me really puzzled n says did u put a v8 in this thing? and my mates sister goes "jesus boy what you put under the hood of this thing".

Mine can hardly be heard... just a slight whistle coming from the rusty mid section.
