Hey guys,, bad news for me! my head gasket has gone.... after the suggestion that Fozzymonster made about the bleed valve, i went out and took it off and was getting ready to go for a drive to check if the rattle was still there!. I started the car and it started running REAL rough and misfireing!! also a bit of smoke..... after a few mins, no change, so i checked dip stick and under oil filler cap and saw a mayo looking cream!!!! i just about managed to drive the car to mateys garage and stripped head off which shows head gasket had gone, (ive got pics but dont know how to post).. Anyway... i loved it when it was running, so i thought i'd do it properly this time and no cutting corners..... I gave Mike a call from ferriday engineering and spoke to him.. he's gonna supply me with a ally de-compression plate 3mm thick which would lower comp to about 8-1.. thats costing me Ԛ£190, then ive gota source non stretch head bolts and put it all back together!! i hope it works better, what do you guys think??

Shame, I wondered if it was pinking from the start when you mentioned the rattle like noise. Was probably too late by that point, I really hate those bleed valves to be perfectly honest!

What you can do is get a proper MLS headgasket, and order up the bolts as well, but fit the standard bolts if you are in a hurry for the car to be back working...then replace the bolts 1 by 1 when the arp bolts come through.

I'm glad you enjoyed boost, its good to see you are not giving up at the first hurdle, well played :thumb:

If you have a looksie on e30tech, there are many links to mls headgaskets. I think with the bolts, its then safe to run big numbers. 15psi + in most instances without to much of a problem. This is usually on a later block with lower compression, but I am clueless as to what compression you are running with your 2.7.

No worries at all :D You'll just need some more mapping time! :D
