I got a set of 17" on my baby now ......
So it looks like a 4 x 4 i would like to lower it ...and the more the beter i was thinking of 60mm alround ....doz any one know if its posable to go lower without any serious effect....*Dont mind driving around speed bumps*.......theres about 2 and a half inch gap between the arch and tire so i thinc 60mm would be enuff but would like to go lower maby a possible? 80mm

Any segestions would be greatfull

80mm is a seriously bad idea. If it were me I wouldnt go any lower than 40mm especially if you want to carry people in the car and use it as a daily. Even at 40mm there were places I could not get in and out of in my sport without the car scraping on the ground. Not pretty.

60mm looks the nuts but I couldnt go that low, hopefully someone will come along with some real world experience of it. 80mm must be even worse, im pretty sure it would do some major damage at some point. I.E sump!!!

I have 60mm on my cab and I had 17" wheels on it and there was only 1 speed bump that ever gave me hassle but I just avoided that road!
Having said that, I never have any passengers in the rear but I do have a boot full of crap.

Don't go 80mm!

60mm is also very low and you have to look around where you drive to see if you'll be able to avoid smashing the underside of the car.

Also take into consideration that you will spend a fortune on rear tyres as they WILL wear on the inside.

Have a look on the Zone Shop to see if there are any springs that meet your requirements.

If your going to lower the car this much please change your shocks too.

I never have ppl in the back seat ....maby becoz there is no back seat i replaced it with my cool ice instalation ..
being a 2 door and still no family it seemed like a good idea at the time ...i only use the car at sound shows and for weekend drives and when i feel like driving it ...but i must say the more i spend on it the more i feel like driving it ...shes comeing together nicly now its almost done.....

60/40 is probably as far as you want to go as far as practicality is concerned.

The front lowers quite alot - you can get a finger in between the front arch and the tyre.

The front of E30's is quite high so the 60/40 setup levels the car out quite nicely.

ive 60mm lowering all round and its too high. i scrape my midbox on only servere speed humps, but thats the bad powerflow design. im going to get some 80mm springs on my 60mm shocks but that still wont be low enough, does anyone do 100mm springs?? but if your lowering your car get shocks too.

the only problem will be the sump, and obveously parking. but the sump sits inbetween the wheels so wil be fine.

had no experience with air bags. wouldn't of thought it would handle as good and it complecates things. ive already got the 60mm kit on and some 80 or 100mm springs wont be too much.

i don't think u can physically lower an E30 100mm without serious modifications. I don't think u can on a true 80mm drop either. 60mm all round f**ks the car up enough imo, I like 60/40 and put up with the hassle with that on my 2 e30's

Get us a picture of your car.

ok

bumper to floor = 120mm

front wheel to arch = 55mm (hard to measure acuratly due to curve on tyre

rear wheel to arch = - 20mm

still sound like a 35mm drop??
