im changing my 320is engine for a 325, the engine im interested in is an auto, i know all i need to do is to put a spigot bearing in, but will the 320 clutch and flywheel fit? and allso there is no loom with it. is the 320 loom the same? and do all the other auxilleries fit i.e. alternaters and stuff,

basically what i mean is ............ can i use everything off the 320 and just drop the 325 block in?????

If it's a 320is then you can't use the same gearbox. You would have to change the gearbox and prop but other than that use the engine loom from the engine, ecu and coding plug for the instrument cluster's :thumb:

I'm guessing (hoping) that you're doing an 320i M20- 325i M20 swap, in which case it's pretty much a straight swap.

If it's a 320is can I buy your old engine?? :D

coding plug what that? btw way i was gonna install mega squirt, would i still need the 325 manifold for reference? so i can still use the 320is running gear for the time being( gear box and prop)

and yeah i would sell the engine afterwards mate, but i want to try and source all my conversion bits first.

Is it a 6 cyl or 4 cyl engine?

If its the 6 cyl 2.0ltr, its an easy swap. If its the 4cyl 320iS engine, its not worth doing.

hey midnight, to put it another way.... does it say ''BMW M POWER'' on the lump? if not then its a 6 cylinder 320, the 320i.s(i.s meaning injection sport) and the 320ise(s.e meaning special equipment) are not to be confused! two very different cars.

thats whats gonna happen to my 320, we are useing the 320 box(manual)+diff, dropping the 325i engine in. you will need a complete 325i exhaust and of course the 325i ecu(325i air intake). i hope its a pre facelift engine you have!
