I recently found out this from my boss, (he's nearly as much of an auctionaholic as myself)

if you text the reg number of a car you're going to buy to

88600 they'll do an instant HPI on it

very useful :cool:

as far as I'm aware it does both! you get two txts for the money- 1 stolen and 1 vcar

well the lux i'm selling came back as ok :-)

no record of it being an insurance loss

it never mentioned finance though....

which of course it hasnt got any finance on it, but uif you are checking newer cars you need to think about that!

Just tried my Cat C 106 Gti, and sure enough, Cat C.

Doesn't do finance though. :)

what a good idea!

mine has been checked loads of times at least 12!

but it was all clear!

strange, because when i insert my chassis on our system, it came up with a different plate!
but the Hpi indicated no plate changes!

strange!
