Does anyone know of any companies that do good deals for insurance. the thing is i will only be using the car as a track car so will only need insurace for a couple of days a month if that. so basically need insurance to get there and back. anyone know of any companies who do this sort of thing??

I've used them, never had to make a claim tho but got pulled by the fuzz and they were happy with all the documents in my possesion, apparently they are underwritten by Norwich Union, although I was never able to determine if it was third party insurance, fire and theft, or fully comp. Website is very vague.
But it does satisfy all legal requirements except you can't use that insurance to tax the car, so buy 12 months tax each time to avoid hassle. I swap my main car cover to my weekender to tax it then back again on my main policy and then use day insure.

dayinsure.com - one of the requirements is the car is not modified, so no use for a track car.

Yeah, i was paying Ԛ£520 fully comp, but no mods allowed. Also they have no issue with trackdays, which will void your cover completely with a lot of insurers these days. Even if you don't want cover for the actual trackday, some insurers say doing ANY trackdays will void your policy with them.
The main plus point for me is their attitude to modifications. So long as i don't modify the bodyshell or increase the power of the engine i can do what i like.

Suspension, brakes, wheels, seats, harnesses, cage, steering, bodykit (if that's your thing), plexiglass windows. Basically everything you'd want to do to a track car.lukeb wrote:but doesn't that mean all you can do is suspension and breaks?

i would of thought maybe a cage would of not been allowed because its built into the body of the car. I would of thought you'd of been able to have engine mods though.
