It will mate, it's very hard to find equal drivers at the 'Ring though.

If you are learning the track (very much so like myself) you are only 'quick' in certain places, and these places could be different to other drivers.

I'd love to give my car to Gary, and let him have a play against a standard E30 M3.

:D

Definately, I reckon close to 8:40 to be honest. Maybe slightly quicker.

I wanna just do loads of laps. I know timing isn't a great idea, but I'd be very, very please to break the nine minute barrier, without taking too many risks!

I have yet to see a quick UK E30 other than an M3 and they are reasonable rare too ......

I tell a lie I have been overtaken by one 325i, and he told me after he had 206bhp.

I cant actually remember being overtaken by an E30 other than that one and a few M3's come to think of it. I'm not sure if that bodes well for my current project car

You'll be fine Gary, with decent suspension and brakes it'll be a flyer.

It's very much about the driver! Most M3 drivers MAY be concerned about spanking their rare beasts and hence take it easy!

Dont often see UK M3's over there. There is one black car driven by a UK regular but I havent had the pleasure of seeing him on track yet.

I know of at least 15 different UK e30 M3's that are regulars... There will be 6 there next weekend.

3-4 times a year. Some have year passes so go much more often.

There's a couple of regulars that go on www.bmwtrackdays.com aswell...Jason Hart etc??

Was that 206bhp a 325? Just curious as my racer was dyno'd as 203 at the wheels from a 2.5 which I was amazed at

I'm there once a month every month in the open season and can honestly say I dont see many regular UK E30 M3's. Doesn't mean I dont miss them everytime though :D

The only ones I know are a guy who I met this week at Silverstone with his Ceccotto and another black one with a middle aged chap on a 'G' or 'H' plate from memory.

M3GTR ........ The guy with the silver 325i said he had 206bhp, I have no idea how true that was but it is one hell of a well sorted car. It pulled away from my 205 with ease, out punching me from corners and out cornering me too. Thats something which doesnt happen to me very often with non M3 E30's.
