Picked up the gear linkage parts today from the dealers :)

Image

All fitted in no problem including the Z3 stick from my iS!
Also managed to get the radiator mounted properly and all plumbed in.

Bit worried about doing the C1001 wiring though :?
Mrlee sent me an excellent wiring chart for M50 into E30 but looking at it today-few of the pins are not in my wiring and it has put me off even attempting it :-x
Think the chart i have must be for facelift model only!

Anyone got any ideas before i tow it to an auto electrician?

Replace rear skirt with correct Mtec1

easy geezer! bula from fiji!! all looking good! parts i can help with are
Prop e36 325 m8. just do the dustsheild mod in 'm50 developments' n use e30 centre bearing
exhaust. much fun as u know. check my original post n get chris on it! u know he loves it
radiator e36 325. use ur is mounts n a 316i hose clip on ithe old earth bolt
elec fan u've sorted it
air box? k&n m8. 60 quid from ecp. u gotta flaunt the m50 induction noise init
gear linkage u've sorted it already init. i used e36 318.

the wiring is just pin 2 pin as listed in my m50 developments post and we know it works.
fire it up with no manifolds n check out the blue flames!! wicked if a litlle loud.
lookin sweet tho m8. i fly to the cook islands 2mo for 2 weeks but am back on 1st october so will fly down.
my shed is sleeping for a month (longest a tenners stayed in the tank ever lol). i dunno what ur doing about a diff but will only do 111 with the 320 one in. as u know!!! speak to rich at fritz n we've stashed a 525e one for ya. so u'll be able to blow me away. my iX is there n the golf servo is in the boot. take it on m8. u know how we hate spendin money init!! hope u get in sorted n alls's good at home. see ya at da end of the month. ez now

I think the shocks will be Mtech stuff on an iS but the iS front springs will only be rated for the 4pot IIRC. You will need to get 6pot springs for the front.

hello again tony. have just been sat in my room thinking about diff ratios and i seem to remember a conversation with rich that a 325 auto diff is 3.25 ratio. same as a m3 but open not a lsd. that way the gearing would be spot on and i know u well enough to know that it would be easier and cheaper for you to do it that way as u can probably find one in someones garden or something! i know ur good at that. u may be ok with the 320 auto diff but check the ratio and if you remember i wrecked the temp 320 diff i put in after haynes in not very long. it's a bit smaller than a 2.5 one and i do abuse the crap out of it to be fair. as u know lol. i'm sure in ur's n cherals careful hands it should be no probs. if u do find a 2.5 auto diff tho and you ever actually find an lsd (gotta be 19 n counting now isn't it lol) we can convert it to an lsd using parts from both of them. rich has got his technique down. is worth going to check out fritz tho when/if u grab that servo as we've moved premises now and the rolling road should be in. always worth a look init. right i'm gonna go get on with the rest of my holiday now. for the record i've been in fiji for 2 wks and haven't found any evidence of e30's anywhere. just 1 e34 2 e60's and 1 e90. heres hoping in the cook islands hey. good luck m8. catch ya l8rs!! :D

^Dave nice to hear from you mate :)

Fancy fooking off to Fiji soon as you talk me into M50ing it
Nah,as you can tell, all has gone pretty smooth, biggest jobs left are exhaust, prop and wiring(Totally different to post facelift)but thanks to Ian Haynes for wiring chart should hopefully have it crancking over by weekend winkeye
Chris is also coming over on Saturday morning to make a start on the exhaust/manifold,hes itching to get going on it!

Not sure about diff yet, almost out of money now, this thing has drained my pockets so itll have to wait a while to get one, main concern now is get it running and up the road!

Anyway enjoy the rest of your hols mate, see you when you get back :thumb:
