A car doesn't need to be council to get a magazine feature, unless you want to get into PBMW then you have no choice but to give it the full on 'tower block' treatment. I have had over the years assorted frag of mine in total bmw, including an Alpina B7 turbo 6 series, two M5 touring features, a feature on my 'jumpleadmeister' 635 highline and the black sport evolution that i sold Everett got a few pages as well. Anybody that knows me knows it wasn't my good looks that got the cars in the mag and i definately didn't fellate Everett !

I know why you all spend your time here now. No FCUKING taste what so ever. RH TOPLINES are Chav? This coming from the Alpina rep brigade :D

All i can say is open your fcking minds people. Not everyone thinks every car BMW makes is perfect and that's why 99% of the population change at least something on their BM's incliding you with yuor tasteless crap.

As for the Angel eye's, i have a set as a well as tinted Hella's. They are both fitted with 8k Xenon upgrades and both serve a different purpose on different cars. Most of all my Angels now light the road better than your piece of sh#t smileys so lay off them :x

just remember folks, everyone is welcome in the zone standard or non standard, everyone is different, we don't all have to like the same things.

life would be very boring if that was the case and so would the zone !

Ah but Ben, your car would look odd without angel eyes 8) Its all about the whole package and attention to detail.

IMO theres a difference between your cars, that have had the time and money spent on them to look good and those that are just plain wrong - you know the ones with a mix match of mods that scrape the floor, the twin 5" tail pipes and battered to fcuk jap front bumper. Im not just talking E30s.

is "council" a way of describing a mod that you don't like? or somthing that makes a car look tatty ? could Alpina or Hartge be blamed for being council for changing the way a car looks ? IMO every E30 owner should be able to modify his own car how HE wants it on the budget he or she has without being labelled in some way ...we all have individual cars and it's great to see them all it would be pretty boring if we all drove the same thing 8O

My car is a little council, it has 2 3.5" tailpipes in stainless and its loud as fook on boost, yup defo some council tendancies, like stickers in the rear window etc etc, oh and a chump valve

IMHO, the council thing is a laugh, I prefer the euro clean look, less is more approach, however I'm in the minority here, possibly apart from Ste and a few others :D

Dude, you have more posts than most. :D Take the thread in the spirit it is intended and don't get stressed.
No FCUKING taste what so ever.
Define 'taste'. People will say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and that if everybody liked the same things the world would be a boring place etc.. This is true. However, design and aesthetics have rules. Adding parts to a car without consideration for the overall look, or changing something just for the sake of changing it without an overall picture of the effect you're having to the overall aesthetics of the car is a recipe for an overfussy eyesore.
RH TOPLINES are Chav? This coming from the Alpina rep brigade :D
100% agree with you. Toplines are great looking wheels. Having said that they are unfortunately awful quality. Have you felt how much one weighs!!? I dropped one on my toe and couldn't fit it in my shoes for a week.
All i can say is open your fcking minds people. Not everyone thinks every car BMW makes is perfect and that's why 99% of the population change at least something on their BM's incliding you with yuor tasteless crap.
Nobody has said you shouldn't mod your cars, it's modding them in a non-obvious council way that is being discussed.

As for the Angel eye's, i have a set as a well as tinted Hella's. They are both fitted with 8k Xenon upgrades and both serve a different purpose on different cars. Most of all my Angels now light the road better than your piece of sh#t smileys so lay off them :x
The Xenons are making the lights better though not the angel eyes. The Angel eyes warn other road users that the approaching car, is about to rush past on his way to collect the owner's Giro before Matalan shuts.

Dude, nobody is 'having a go' at anyone in particular. You get enough big-ups on here for your cars and you know that. I don't usually buy Performance BMW (the writing is generally appaling, as is Total BMW for that matter) but I bought this months to look at your car as I appreciate the work that has gone into it.

If I'm being 100% honest and my cars are pictured on this thread for you to tear apart as much as you like, I'd have stopped short of the M3 mirrors as I think the shape doesn't suit the e30 and they look too big for the car. I don't like the eyebrow soilers as they spoil the e30s hard as nails stare that the bonnet subtley creates over the lights. I'm also not keen on the interior but appreciate it's for show purposes. I fucking love the paint and the metal work on the arches though. Plus the Image wheels are an awesome choice.

Yeah its all lighthearted. I have seen Mr pimps car in the flesh and the paint is unreal. The whole car looks good because its a show car. It hasn't ram raided halfords and got random stuff attached onto it. It all fits in.

But random stuff like blue LED washers look absolute shite and generally anything that can be purchased from the likes of halfords. Bugerking wheels, alloy carpet mats etc etc.

I can also appreciate stuff that is rare, Ste's wheels are awesome due to design and the fact they are rare as rocking horse! I also like hartge 16" and 8J pinas.

At the end of the day its a bit of a joke really, well in my eyes. I used to have smoked rear lights and a blowing exhaust, so i am a coucil operative in hiding!

Lets face it. If we're going by the list mentioned then 99.9% of cars here would be called Council. I agree that the amount of money spent on a car doesnt necessarily make it a fat car, but some Zoners need to open their eyes to the fact that different people mod their cars for different reasons and be more accepting and see the positives instead of always picking on the things they would have done differently.

As for the "Nobody is having a personal go at me bit", The day i listen to the majority views on the Zone is the day i will retire from modding :D Incase you havent notice' i go out of my way to do everything against most of what the Zone stands for including buying some of the rarest E30's and chopping the fcuk out of them  Just wait till you see the Mint Evo Sport i have ready to chop up for my next master piece winkeye

Ho and Pacerpete lives on a Caravan Site and is the Ultimate White Trailer Thrash, and he tried to sell me some Lambo doors and neons, yet he has the balls to slate other's about being council :D

My view is a couple of mods from that council list is ok, I have a black grill and eyebrows

Its when 99% of the mods on the list are on one car that it looks ott as there is no theme. Some people buy the mods on that list thinking they are cool and they might be if they fit with the overall theme of the car.

I wouldnt fit neons to my car but if I had that green car from Fast and the furious then yes they would be on in a flash

Any BK racing wheels are council as are AZEV A's!
Have to disagree with that one :?

BK Replica Yes But Azev A's errr no....How many sets of BK do you see on the road and how sets of Azev's....

Everyone has different tastes, but they don't all equate to council..do they 8O

Has anyone mentioned spinners??

I can just imagine that 4 pot Flymo put-put wheezing along to drag the '46 along the A2.........

As for the true definition of council - look no further than an old E32 on 18 inch fake AC Shitzers/'Pinas, chrome arches and handles, chrome V12 badges on the C posts plus thje crowning glory of a Northern Irish plate 'DAZ35623495734576'

Now THAT'S what I call council. Pissing money away on a big old car which is worth the square root of fuck all.

All it wants is an Irish plate to complete the picture as well as the rustle of Golfing slacks.
