Today is a big one for the burgundy beauty !
20 years ago today my car left the factory ... on the way to southern Spain where the first 15 years were spent carting an old lady around (who was not so good at parking).
5 years ago she took the trip north to Scandinavia .. to be looked after by myself.
I bought the car with a whopping 33000km on the clock ... now we're up to 78000km.
Birthday present could well be a second hand 6-branch that I am going to see tonight .. to tide me over until I win the lottery and order one of Sals.
Sal has taken care of the other presents .... BBTB, ITG, stainless brake lines and a chip.
"Tillykke med fødselsdagen" as they say in Denmark.

Definately the car .... the old lady just left a few apparent parking mishaps on show.
That's why I adore the mtech1 rear !!

And I'm still trying to find a box for you !

so you added the M-tech1 rear yourself?

and dropped the suspension - nose down? What springs did you use?

The car was fairly standard ... had all the goodies inside like A/C and cruise.
Rear I did myself ... I got hold of a front 10 days ago which is now primed and waiting for the top coat.

Suspension is the H&R 60/40 cup kit .. courtesy of Sal. The picture from the rear makes it look nose down but it really isn't so noticeable.
Heated seats I did myself too ... Makes it noce and cosy in the winter here with the hardtop.

you really do have the full spec :D

but now I'm confused (again)

here is my car - looks almost exactly the same ride-height as yours? (on 16" Hartges)

Image

I have the AVO springs kit, which says 35mm drop all round, but what actually happened is more drop at the front, and I'd say less than 35mm drop at the rear

I did try to measure before/after, and I estimate 45/25

so what does 60/40 actually mean in terms of drop - yours looks the same???

I forget now exactly ... but the front ended up about 45 and the rear 30-35. It took the rear about 6 weeks to bed in properly.
Certainly don't want it any lower.

PS are you sure there's room for front mud flaps. I don't think there's that much space. Don't want to send them and you find out they won't fit.

:D
there is... and there isn't

I had my original mudflaps on the car no problem, but then just after lowering I turned the car around 'off-road' on some bumpy grass - I did a 3 point turn, and as I was going backwards I caught one of the flaps, and the metal bracket was so rusty that it broke.

I just need to be more careful

And I might try cutting my old mudflaps down slightly, but I definately need the brackets (which I will paint with Hammerite or equiv.) and have the new mudflaps as well if I ever decide to put the car back on original springs.

I kind of did the same with the black lip thing at the front. Going up a hill in the snow .. got stuck .. only way was back down ... ripped the lip straight off !!
Looking forward to the tech1 front to hide a couple of small gaps !
