Was chatting to Stu yesterday and mentioned this - thought it might be usefull for some if you don't already know about it!!

Company called tradex (http://www.tradexinsurance.co.uk/ no affiliation, blah blah) now do a policy they call 'home fleet'.
Spoke to the two guys who actually own the company when i was at the motor show earlier this year, and they seem pretty cool and keen to cater for any situation!!

Basically, they understand that you may own 2, 3, or more cars - but you can only drive one at a time, so why should you have to pay so many times over to insure them!
About time someone realised this!!

For me, fully comp policy for my 850CSi with alloys, 325i touring with all mods declared, mini van with all mods declared (and it is very modded!) and a metro, with business use, etc, came out just slightly cheaper than what i'm currently paying on just the two BM's!!!!!!!!!!
I know what company i'll be changing to when mine expires!!

Adding other vehicles on doesn't push the price up much either and can be done at any time!
But adding on other drivers will push the price up a bit, 'cos then two could be driven at once obviousely! But i would imagine it'd still work out cheaper for most families, etc. You can even set rules like certain people on the policy can't drive certain vehicles, or can only drive them when supervised by the policy holder, and so on!!
Also can cover you for driving any other cars 3rd party, which most insurance companies try and get out of now!!

Gotta be worth a try - how many people or families do you know that only have one car!!

Only pain is you can't get a quote online - you have to print and fill out the form 'cos they're all gonna be quite individual policies - but they were pretty quick responding! Well worth the wait imho!

Let us know if you get a good quote from there - would be nice to know if my rambling helped someone out :D

used to be insured with them a few years ago
was cheaper to have a trade policy at the time than insure my 620 turbo on its own

I posted mine off and they posted back all the paperwork - didn't ring them so i don't know, but i'd assume they must be able to quote over the phone!!

Not gonna change mine 'till i'm 25 now though - don't wanna lose that bit of ncb! Less than five months to go and hopefully i'll get another quid off my insurance bills!!!!!!

Love the way i'm still classed as a young & inexperienced driver at 24, having driven my 850csi for the last 3 years, 6 years ncb and doing circa 30k per year!! I'll probably be classed as old and dangerous next year when i apply!!
