Hi, Tried to start the car yesterday to find the battery completely bollixed.....Not sure where drain is coming from....one of 2 new things done since the day before it went flat (completely no reading at all on voltmeter flat).....added extra LCD screen to DVD player....Live comes from DVD player and tightened hardtop right up....
WRT LCD screen...would this take enough of a drain to completely flatten the battery??? WRT hardtop...could the heated rear window put a drain on the battery if the wires became pinched..even with ignition and heater switch off???
Have had to fit new battery and now oil warning light on overhead panel is on...although dipstick level is fine...this didn't happen B4.....Any advice appreciated

First thing to point out is that modern batteries can fail very suddenly - happened to my wifes touring last week.
One day perfectly OK, the next, not enough to turn the engine.
You need to get a ammeter in series with the battery earth lead and see if there is an excessive drain with everything turned off. 30mA - 90mA is normal. Any more needs investigating.
Favourites are the boot lamp, and in older cars, the glove box light.

Thanx alot Brian ,Have tried what you suggested and drain comes from DVD system....suprised that this completely flattened the battery but assume the battery was on its way out.
