Hello people
The '85 320i that I picked up on Saturday is revving too high from cold, but is fine from warm, is this a common fault on the m20? If so, what do I need to buy.
Thanks in advance
Adam

No this is not a common fault!
Just check that the springs and cables are all strong/free enough to pull the throttle right back properly when cold.
Later on you may want to check for air leaks around the inlet system and also that the TPS - Throttle Position Switch under the butterfly is working OK and clicks off when you remove throttle when cold.
