in around half a years time i am going to start looking for a 325i sport. i am looking for a basically mint 325i sport, which is pretty much impossible i have being told. i wont be insuring the car for about a year so i can get insurance at a half reasonable price. the reason i am going to start looking in 6 months time is because i want to spend about 6 months to try and get the best one possible.
what sort of money should i be willing to spend on a brillant condition 325i sport? i will have about 5 grand in 6 months time, would you say that is to much? i am from northern ireland, so trying to find one might be difficult, any interesting ways to source these cars?
any comments and opinions are appreciated!
thanks

What about ye mate..Im from NI aswell and to be honest you are best going to england or getting someone to source you one from there..Most examples i looked at in NI were certainly not worth the money..
Check out the photo gallery and look at my car,,im sure you will agree its mint even underneath..
good luck

yeh the thing about northern ireland is most people who buy 325i sports are young with no insurance and no sense. therefore most are seriously abused, wrote off or chaved up to the balls. the thing is when i buy the car i will only be 20 years old, would it not be quite expensive to being one into northern ireland? going to check your car out now mate! how much she skin ya?
cheers

Checked the ones in for sale section mate? May give some idea for prices etc. but from when i was looking,i saw them (tech 2's) anywhere from Ԛ£1000 - Ԛ£5000 with commensurate conditions/history , privately and a nice black one change hands for Ԛ£6500 at a dealers, beware thou as theres always a polished turd or two trying for top money! Your right to start looking early if your serious about a good one...................good luck.

It costs buggar all to bring them over, just the price of transport .i.e flight over boat back..Then all u do is register it in your name and that costs feck all..
Mine cost me Ԛ£3800 but that included having the bonet sprayed as it had a bit of laquear peeling..To be honest i could of got one in NI for 2500-3000 but you will end up spending hundreds to get it up to a high standard.
If you need any advice when you are buying just drop me a PM and ill do my best to help..

nah, think he is telling porkers..I can get 35mpg though on a motorway run or if i put in Ԛ£30 i get between 180-210 miles depending on driving style. Which i feel for a 2.5 6 cylinder is pretty good.

oh i should of said aswell and i think most will agree with me but history on these cars is more important than miles..Mine has 124k but it has full bmw service history and most parts have been renewed.

sorry missed one of your posts! oops! i must say your car is a bloody cracker!! any chance has it being in the ballymoney area the past month or two? beautiful looking! i would consider getting one transported if it meant getting a mint car! looking for a white, un-modded cracker.

Good ones seem to go at that sort of price.
Just a quick quote from the auction - "ONLY 2000 M-Tech 2 vehicles were ever imported to the UK, so your looking at one of the last....(however it is not classed as an import)"
I think he maybe confused there.

i used to live in moneymoore, have a feeling i seen that one you bought in the autotrader! you see i would have to get someone from the forum with experience to check a car out for me as i dont trust any discription any seller gives as after all, they dont want the car, they want it out of their driveway! would you ever part with your 325i?
Should be able to get 40mpg from a 325i....I used to get 40mpg on steady motorway runs in my 320i and the 325i is more economical...according to the owner's manual anywaydimebag_from_hell wrote:am willing to pay decent money, a guy told me his 325i sport was doing 40 miles to the gallon as his engine has being serviced regulary, is this possible?

i would never part with mine unless i was offered very good money..Mine wasnt in the autotrader infact it had only been advertised on RMS and Jon44w for a few days before i snatched it up.
