Got a problem with my tail light being out. It ain't the bulb and it isn't the terminals/holder thing as it worked in the other side. Must be the wiring. I haven't got a voltage tester thing. Is there anything i can do or check. At a bit of a loss with it. Looks like its been rewired at somepoint too. :?

Thanks in advance.

First thing to be aware off is that the left and right hand tail lamps (and the number plate lights) are wired completely seperately right back through seperate sections on the switch, right back to different fuses in the fusebox.
You don't need a 'voltage tester thing" - they give very misleading results. All you need for most electrical fault finding is a 5W12V lamp with a couple of 300mm lengths of wire on it. I use an old E30 front indicator repeater lamp.

Oh right. hmm. Will have another look later. The indicators work, brake light and reverse light too. Its just the tail light.Must be a loose connection somewhere.

Ok, will make one.lol

Still not fixed this. Also noticed the passenger side, side light is not working?? Same side as the tail light. Could it be a wire somewhere. Any ideas??

If you want faults fixed, you must give the whole symptoms!!!!!!!
Front side light out on the same side makes all the difference in the world.
First check fuse 22.

Haven't a clue yet. Erm, there was water getting into the boot throught the taillight seals so maybe that did it??

Water in the light won't blow a fuse. Ther's no common faults that I know of which blows this fuse.

Hmmm, i was thinking that because the boot side got a lot of water in it maybe some of the wires were hanging down and got water in the connections?

Lighting system of the car will still happily work if the car was at the bottom of a lake. Voltages and impedances are too low to be affected by water.
