if the brake pedal goes hard isnt that a problem with the servo?

everything at the servo end looks ok not losing any fluid or pressure on the pedal

hard pedal and poor braking is usually pad fade.
soft pedal and poor braking is sometimes fluid fade.
if you dont know what type of pads are on i would change them...probably cheap crap

I would also say it's the servo. There's no liquid inside a servo to leak out, so you wouldn't see anything. Could be the non return valve that's failed. This would give varying levels of servo assistance depending on throttle angle and could ultimately lead to no assistance and a hard pedal.noney82 wrote:everything at the servo end looks ok not losing any fluid or pressure on the pedal
With the engine switched off, try pumping the pedal until it goes hard (each pump uses some of the stored vacuum inside the servo). Once the pedal is hard, hold it down and then start the engine. If the servo is working, the pedal should sink a bit as the servo starts to work.
