hi there, i have a 1984 318i, i know everyone has told me its a small engine, i wanted a 3251 but hey i took what i could get. i want to make this little car a bit quicker, without a turbo, maybe later for that. any suggestions? bolt ons, wires, anything? i bought a k&n filter with the heat shield, thought that might be a start, also heard about 19lb injectore, 8 mil wires? what is the best exhaust size, make etc for me? lots of questions sorry guys, just want to make the car perform as sweet as it will look.
anything will help, you guys know the stuff, teach me please

You could get a zone chip? would be a good start for the money. I think its worth making shore your engines happy aswell, new oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs.

Think you'll find than nobody does a chip for the M10 engine unfortunately
I'd give her a good service and fit a good quality exhaust manifold and system then fit a sports cam (www.catcams.com, BMW 4 cyl M10).
Don't bother changing the ignition leads unless they're shot, the originals are very good anyway. If you do want leads I use and recommend Magnecor leads.
You'll find your existing injectors are more than up to the job as they are.
Cheers,
Iain T

totally agree with Iain, a big cam has to be a really good starting point. piper do some quite reaonsably priced. a tubular exhaust manifold would be good too, and a big bore throttle body.
another really slick thing to do is bring it out to 2l using a 2002 or e21 bottom end or internals.
with all of that it would probably be pretty serious.
you can go as far as like 2.5l with these engines with s14 cranks and big pistons etc.

agreed on all the above.
2 litre capacity hike, higher CR, cam, tubular zaust manifold and BBTB, then add MS or similar standalone and ditch the dizzy, M10 with MS hell yeah
