Goin from auto to manual, what happens with the reverse light switch?

Manual gearbox has the reverse light switch half way up on the right hand side. You will need the small loom from the switch to the white socket by the base of the gear lever inside the car. This is the loom that comes up through the rubber gear lever grommet.
