It should just swap over.
Big round plug up by the fusebox is the where the engine loom plugs into the car. Unplug this on the 325i and remove the engine complete with engine loom, do the same on the 320i.
Fit the 2.5 engine (complete with loom) into the 320i shell and plug the plugs together, fit the 325i ECU and away you go.
Dont worry about the ABS, its got nothing to do with the engine loom so you wont touch it.

There is a connection actually, but it won't affect things putting an ABS engine into a non ABS shell.jmc330i wrote:

On late cars there is a feed to the ABS on a red/yellow wire from pin 87 of the DME relay to pin 20 of theC101.

The 325i and 320i engine looms are the same anyway.

Didnt realise that, but it makes sense. Although leaving each loom on the engine will be easier than refitting a loom to an engine.Templ8e30 wrote:The 325i and 320i engine looms are the same anyway.

Not necessarily true mate, I find it easier to remove the loom from the engine than fannying about trying to get the ecu plug and the big rubber grommet back through the bulkhead and past the steering columnjmc330i wrote:Templ8e30 wrote: Although leaving each loom on the engine will be easier than refitting a loom to an engine.
