Hi all,
Ive got a '91 318is(not modified) running a 4.10/1 diff with 25% LS, am looking at changing it for something to give better acceleration, but am not sure on how the ratios work, is it the lower the ratio eg: 3.25/1 means quicker acceleration and less top speed or is it the other way around?

Whats the best diff to use on an E30 for acceleration? (E30 M3 or ZM coupe ......)

A 4.10:1 diff will give better acceleration with lower top speed compared to a 3.25:1 diff.

You would need to go to a 4.27:1 diff to improve acceleration, but I dont know if there was a 4.27lsd available.

If the 4.10 is a small case diff and so is the 4.27, is it not possible to use the slipper parts from the 4.10 in the 4.27?

I know its possible with the large case diffs.
