tidy up the monitor installation by adding the KTE-770V Monitor Surround

Thanks chaps. Nice comments and yes that is my gaff in the back ground and yes the plate is pukka (PM response). Had several questions regarding the screen also. Basically, I fabricated it myself to meet my self imposed disipline to only apply mods to the car that would not involve altering/drilling/cutting any of the original parts.

To get the screen in just needed the removal of the ash tray, and then the fabrication of two bits, the screen mount and the bit that coves where the ash tray sat and in fact holds the bottom of the screen mount in place.

I am in the process of adding the Alpine screen surround to finish it off better so once I have done it, I will also know up some diagrams on Autocad so if any of you want to do something similar, I'll have some diagrams to help. PM me if/when you are interested.

are those arches wider than the normal m3??

Not as far as I know, I think they are standard M3. Its quite close around the wheels and I had to raise the front coli overs to there highest setting to get through an MOT as the fronts just rubbed the liners at the rear of the arches.

Then raised the rear to match, but its still a bit lower than standard M3.

I had though about the striping, but would prefer to leave this one as is. I saw a french registered one a few years ago which I think was in the Alpina blue (reg number was 9430 WWC 94 which I think is a temporary plate pending official registration) with the Gold stripes and wouldn't mind that one (as well!!!)

The exhaust is a brand new stainless Alpina system from front to rear without the Cat as I did not need it for the UK.

Jonno my man. Its never going to be for sale in my life time (I've still got my 1983 Capri Turbo that I bought new and my 1988 Mini Mayfair - 1380 Twin Cam, weber alpha....) plus a few other motors, then the motor bikes.

I did get Munich Legends to go over it after I had got her back here and Barney receokked it was one of the very best he had seen in years. Guaranteed Insured value with salvage rights is Ԛ£15k, but there is no way I could get another in the same condition for that money, although she has done a few miles (226,026 kms).

When I bought her, there was one in the purple - #61 for sale at 28000 euro and although it was low miles (94000kms), I thought this was the better car - previous owner worked for BMW and was a massive enthusiast. Only sold it 'cause it was too difficult getting a child in/out so got a B10 instead!

I got it from Maniflow Systems in Salisbury as I know the chap who owns the company (used to be part of Downton Engineering years ago and was the best pipe man in the business back then). Price was very good considering a new one from BMW was quoted at over Ԛ£2400!!! I paid Ԛ£881 inc VAT and fitting

If this is the case any info regarding that would be most appreciated. i have been looking for information on people that have gone to guy, reputple dealers e.t.c. not a lot around.

i presume its an exact copy of a genuine one? i notice you uhave sleeves over the tip0s? whats the diameter of the pipes?

Not sure of the diameter, its as per original and was manufactured using the original Alpina drawings. Its one piece front to rear. The old one (which was date stamped 1989 so was the one that came with the car new - lasted well as I fiited the new one Oct last year) had the pipes exitting at a slight angle which I thought was owing to movement over time, but apparently thats how they were made so the replacement is the same.

I can measure the pipes up and PM you over the week end if you like.
