No, I draw the line at parking in those, though sometime there does appear to be far more disabled spaces than necessary, certainly at the tesco where I shop there must be 25 disabled spaces, and I've never seen more than 4 or 5 in use.

I fully respect that it is important to leave disabled spaces for whom they are intended for, but as for parent and child spaces, they're fair game.........

The reason why you see them empty is so people can park when they arrive! If they were always full then they need more. Its a legal requirement for a supermarket to have a certain amount of disabled spaces depending on the size.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i only just spotted it.

I have seen me having to drive round for half an hour for a space when my son was a few weeks old.

Hows about you try getting a car seat out of the car in a normal space. You cant, simple as its tough getting him out even without the seat!

Luckily he walks a bit now so i can park in normal spaces, and he gets out my side anyway as as soon as i undo the the buckle he jumps into my seat to "drive" the car!!

It takes the p*ss when you see 10 or 12 year olds being a reason to park in the parent and child space.

They are actually further away than the normal spaces in The morrisons in Kendal, Asda's are quite a bit nearer.

so after that waffle... please dont park in them we need them!
