Just lowered my S50 into the E30 and it went in with relative ease :?
(which im suprised at) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v293/ ... CT1875.jpg

Admitidaly the lower parts of the manifold block the route for the steering shaft. But have no problems with it hitting either inner wing or the bulk head.
Id read that it may cause issues with this.

Here's a pic of my exhaust manifold;

And here's a pic of a manifold i found on ebay;

Compare pipe no 6. On mine it curves towards the front of the car then down. On the ebay pipes it curves out away from the rest and towards the bulk head, then down.

Are there 2 types of manifold or does it look like mine has already been modded.

Its got 'Boyson' stamped on it if that makes a difference.

Anybody got any pics of thier manifolds ?

Cheers

The one in the Ebay pic is how the S50 manifold should be.

It looks like yours has already been modded, quite a bit by the looks of it.

It may of been modded to fit a LHD drive, which is why it fits but the steering joint wont.

Ah that makes sense. I got the engine from a 1993 LHD Convertible.

Im racking my brains trying to think why it would be a different manifold or made differently for LHD's ???

Its probably staring me in the face. But anyone know why its a different no' 6 pipe for LHD ?

Cheers

Yeah, mine didn't have any welds in the runners, they're just formed in one piece from the collectors on the head to the 3-1 collectors lower down :?
