the most you can do to head is port intake, polish exhaust, cam, billet rockers, stronger springs and retainers and then you can weld or brace over the top of where rocker shaft and cam jornals are and if you run high comoression or boost you can weld in the middle of the water jackets and that will hold whatever you give it in terms of rpm and cylinder pressure but if you just want something to bolt onto stock NA engine then you can get milder cam and leave out the welding, rockers, springs and retainers so all you need to do is buy a cam and send head into local engine builders and have it port and polish and resurfaced, probly cost about £350 for that, would be looking at £700 to do everything

the problem i have is that i have removed the exhaust manifold but 1 stud is snapped off in the head and another hole has no thread in it, therefore bout to take head off so i can have sleeves put in them or sumfin but whilst head is off i was thinkin bout doin bits like cam, polish/port. i wondered if i could buy a competition head so i aint got the head ache but dont know of any that do it or any idea of rough price.

not sure if they will exchange with it in that condition but its worth a try, not possible to helicoil the one hole?, if you can as long as the snaped one isnt that deep a welder will get the other one out for you in 10 min, im sure i would, ive done 2 now and they were easy. other option is looking for scrap yard with a 325 and take it off yourself first checking for broken studs and then heating them up with blow torch if they feel tight. I have seen someone post a link for a rebuilt head on ebay here i think, not sure how much it was tho

the best way to get broken stud out of the cylinder head is to weld on the end of them and use grips on them, would exchange it for rebuilt one or just get second hand one tho if you already went wrong drill and it needs helicoil anyway
