I am rebuilding the brake calipers for my E30 325 based kit car. I have a feeling that there are two differnt makes of caliper used on the E30 - is that correct? If so how do I know what ones I have - presumably the rebuild kits are different? The calipers seem to have no makers name on them other than than BMW.

Cheers

I know that ATE are one maker of brakes for the E30, i think the other maker is Giring/Girling.

Yeah, ATE and girling, the ATE calipes have 2 large allen headed bolts, and the girling has 2 slimmer slider type bolts, that should have a small rubber cover.

The rebuild kits are available from the main dealer and aren't expensive.

Give them the part number from the realoem link above ^
