Hi guys,
me and a mate are gonna have a bash at fitting my cruise control tomorrow, have just been looking through the bits i got and it seems i only have a clutch switch and not a brake switch. as the clutch switch isnt needed (my car is auto) can it be doctored and used as the brake switch?
also my speedo isn't currently working, as the cruise control takes a pulse from the speedo will the fact that mine doesn't work stop the cruise from working??
cheers
Matt.

senses brake depression through system without need for switch m8-just bridge the clucth switch wiring.
r.e depends what is wrong with your speedo m8-takes the signal from the downward facing accessorie socket which isnt usually fitted -have you got it???
ive got a spare if you need one?its a green socket that slots to cluster from bottom?

ther should be a brake switch already fitted which turns on the lights as for the clutch switch all i did was cut the switch off and joined the wires together with a crimp connector hope this helps

The cruise control isn't going to work until you sort the speedo, which is probably an internal break in the wire from the diff, within a couple of inches from the plug.
If you look at the back of the instrument cluster, on the underside of the speedo part, you will see five small holes in a line, with a couple of plastic hooks either side.
This is where the green socket fits. All that is missing is the piece of green plastic itself; the sockets for the connector are already there, and most of them are the speed signal. Just push 4mm of bare wire into the socket.
The speed signal is also available at pin 10 (blue/yellow wire) of the white connector.
