Just had the first chance to open my 325i up having started its tranformation into a track car. So far stripped rear seats and the huge stereo out. Plenty more to go yet.
I have to say I was quiet impressed with the way the car pulled. I would suggest it felt as if it would be similar to my 205 to 70mph and then would be capable of pulling a slight gap out. This is important to me as im looking for something with a little more grunt for the long uphill sections on the ring. I doubt I will be able to catch the 205 on the tighter stuff but you cant have it all........

Loads more work required when time and money allows.

hi mate,i would have thought the 205 would have been quicker of the mark with the 325 catching it at higher speeds with the weight difference .what model is your 205?

So when are you taking it for it's first taste of the Ring? Have you taken the carpet out?, it's pretty heavy!

So is all the soundproofing stuck to the floors underneath it, and under the back seat and inside the doors, and on the bulkhead inside and out!

It wont be this year Theo. The 205 is still over there and comes home sometime in October. The plan is too do a UK winter track day in the beemer and see how it gets on. If it survives it I will start buying decent gear and getting it on and ready to go to Germany in March. I will get the locals to set it up for the 'ring'. They know more about the correct settings then we do in the UK. I may leave both the pug and the beemer over there next year.

ps ........ rear carpet / seats / door cards are out but thats it so far ........ It will be totally bear before it goes over the water dont worry.... weight is the enemy

yes. a 325i with a good engine goes very well, although some feel very slugish.
