Any ideas on how much the manifold and system are gonna cost Karan?
I'm going to have the same problem on my conversion and it's the bit I'm least looking forward to sorting out. (as well as the brake servo/master cylinder fouling the plenum)
Good luck buddy, keep motivated!

Hi, looks like one of those projects where you needto double your budget and time.
I have just bought an M5 lump and will start the same project next month.
Can you send me your book???
LOL
This thread has more chapters than most, but seriously if you have written an S38 into E30 biography I will buy it!
hope it is finished soon.

problem is lotas of small sized problems to which there are a variety of solutions so you have to sit there and chose which way u wanna go about things. Its also a very long engine and getting it aligned with the gearbox on is very hard

Karan,
Drop me an email and hopefully we can chat about your progress and you can teach me the ways and where fors of the bimmer conversion.
I take it my first action is to source some E30 M3 struts etc for the 5 stud conversion!
Not sure what M5 parts I have on the shell I am getting!!
Any suggestions?
Graham

Who's doing the rad Karan ?
I'd recommend Tim Brise, http://www.brise.co.uk, good quality, no silly prices and a superb reputation.
if you know what needs doing for the manifolds I'll mod them to your spec no worries, unless you plan to line the pockets of Hayward and Scott some more

Karan I have nearly stripped my M5 out of it's shell, I do not wantto get rid of the shell though until I know I have everything I need off her.
Couple of areas I was unsure of.
Wiring!!!!!!!!!! I have taken out all the engine and motronic unit, all the way up to the round multi-plug. My old E30 only has about half the pins in the end that the M5 has.
can you give me some info or the guy who helped you?
Shall I take the fuel tank and pump?
Let me know how you are getting on.

hello everyone
big update
the car runs!
had a radiator made from radtec and then exhaust from hayward and scott
was a leak in one of the oil cooler pipes so it spat oil everywhere---but no big deal cos i ran it for 5 secs and switched it off then i noticed the leak!!
so need some new pipes made up
pics to follow, the rad and manifold/exhaust work is amazing!!
just needs those pipes and the leccy fan connecting and the bumper and lights back on and shes ready for MOT!
cheers to everyone who has made this possible especially the likes of Ian and Andrew!
and for those 5 seconds it sounded mental!!
cheers
Karan
