OK guys, I'm a little 'tired' at the mo, but I have a question re the early (external) fuel pump - mine has failed the MOT because it's loose, but closer inspection reveals it to be fastened to absolutely nowt (bar the actual pipes). There is a bracket around the pump, which has matching bolting points on the bodywork, but here's the dodgy bit - there are rubber stops bolted to all these points, and these merely bounce together under vibration - it has clearly and DELIBERATELY not been attached to anything for some years.
So, in short, I've locked it together with a couple of cable ties - it's more secure, but will this pass muster on the retest? A long shot I suppose, but if anyone has any experience of the above...
PS MOT station is known to be reasonable, they wouldn't have flagged this up if it was marginal.
