removed carpet etc but no joy tracing the leak

weds night parked facing uphill and in morning floor was dry

last nite faced her downhill and this morning she,s wet again
not as bad but a good pint maybe a little more in pass floor again

checked the top of the sunroof channels and alls good no rot/rust etc blocking em

but where do the channels go to??

and is there any other possibilities for the flooding??

thanks all

Door seal? I had a golf with a sunroof, blamed it on the same reason for ages! Turned out to be the door seal. I had the same results parking up hill and down hill as you too.

I think the drain chanels for the sunroof come out at the back of the front wings? Not 100% on that though

think the sunroof drains go out just behind the petrol tank just under the bumper!

Is your sticky plastic liner behind your door trim intact ?

I had to cut mine for some speaker pods and the water was dripping into the foot well, i couldn't seal it up because i wanted the speakers to be able to use the door space as a chamber. I got a new window seal(the one at the bottom of the window) and it cured it.

I'm not 100% sure but i think the rear sun roof drains go to the rear quarters behind the rear wheels and the fronts go down the A-pilar to the back lower edge of the front wings, you know where the central locking control box is mounted.

check if the two drain holes in the bottom of the front wing are clear, if not then the wing is full of mud from the front wheel which eventualy blocks the roof drian.
There is NO nucleus.

the front drain holes are blocked, get strimmer wire and feed them down there, face the car down hill put the wire down there and put the water in, jus as the water pools up in front of the hole remove the strimmer wire and the water should flush thru. flush a few times and hopefully ok!!! i just done this last week man!

May I sugest you do the hosepipe test.

have your wife pour water over the car with a hosepipe, while your inside with a flashlight, finding the leak.

There are 2 drains in the front and two drains in the back.if you pull the carpet back on the pass. side to expose the bulkhead(remove side speaker/kick panel), open the roof and pour water in the front drain hole carefully with a small funnell on a dry day and watch for water running down to the footwell.A rubber tube leads from the roof to the bottom of the car, this can come adrift if implements are prodded into it.Failing that you may have a hole in the bulkhead behind the glove box.
If it ain't broke..
Fix it till it is :)

Some sound advice there. I just done this last week and the strimmer wire does the trick, however when i unblocked the drainholes there was still a bit of water coming in. This is due to the crossbar channel being lodged at the back of the roof and not coming back and forth with the sunroof, maybe thats your problem but unblock the drains first. There are two drains, two front two rear, i used a coat hanger on the two rear as u wont feed strimmer wire down them. the front exit via just behind the front wheels, and the rear exit just behind the rear wheels. if you have the car face up hill pour water in, the water should run down to the rears and hopefully ull see water come out the rear holes, if not or not as much then theres a blockage. do the same for the front! check where the boot jack is, thats a good idea to let u know if the rear sunroof holes are draining. let me know how u get on. ps ull need to remove the sunroof
