Hi

I have free access to a machine shop at the moment and would like to make some front fixed camber plates for my M3 to increase the negative camber.

Ones like THESE

I need some dimensions so i dont have to take apart my front struts until im ready to install. Does anyone have one to measure or a standard top mount?

I'm after the diameter of the big centre hole, and the amount of offset you can get without the strut fouling the inside of the shock tower.

Cheers

You can buy these from BMW.

For £50 each you can buy the crash mounts, but I can make these plates for free and get more camber.

Just the diameter of the central hole will do, i think i can work the rest out, anyone?

It may be easyer to make adjustable ones like this that use the standerd top mounts.

hi caneswell, i've got the bimmerworld fixed camber plates. They do look very easy to make, they're just metal plate cut to shape with 6 studs welded in. In my opinion the quality of the ones i got was not very good in build quality although perfectly functional but it looks like the ones in the picture have a better finish.
I think the tricky bit is how to work out the offset of the studs, the maths isn't a problem but getting the centres of the three stud pattern could be. The bimmerworld plates stud pattern is not directly offset, the stud pattern is 180° rotated and then offset.
I also have access to a machine shop but was going to get them to do it for me.
I can't give you the dimensions right away as the plates are on the car but i've got some adjustable camber mounts due hopefully in about a week so should have the struts off around then. (I need more camber, I have a little over 3° and probably want closer to 4°).
send me a PM/U2U/whatever this board calls messages if you want more info.
I don't check the e30zone every day so might not be able to get back to you straight away.
