I have had two BMW e30's and both have had this same problem. So it cannot be uncommon.

The left washer jet does not fire which means everytime I try and clean my windscreen whilst driving, the passengers side just becomes smeared. I noticed the connection to the left jet comes off of the right one, which is directly connected from the main tube from the pump. It could be that it is loosing pressure from this connection.

I have had a look at it multiple times but cannot see any blockage in the pump system.

I have tried everything! Has anyone else had/have the same problem, and does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify it. Any input is appriciated.

Cheers, Dan

This is prolly the right answer

Very common and even a bit of liquid polish will clog it up

Yeh I have stuck a pin in the end of the washer, but it did not seem to help much. I have also disconnected the t peice and blew out both ends of it. This worked for a week or so but then the left only started to work if the jet washer was pushed hard and there was a lot of back pressure, but then that even seemed to stop working and now it does not work at all.

I think that as Ad318i says, maybe a new t-peice is needed. Do you know where a good place is where you can pick them up for a couple of quid? If you go to a BMW branch will they be a bit more costly?

I hope buying and fitting a new one does solve the problem. However as I said I had the same problem with my old e30, so I think it may be quite common problem, or maybe I am just unlucky with jet washers.

I seem to get through 1 of the BMW T-pieces per year. I find it really annoying. I am now trying to find a normal t-piece from a fish tank but they're all too small.

Whether you buy new bits from BM or unclog the old bits, take the washer water tank out of the car and clean it very well.

Its amazing how much crap sits in the bottom of the tank and then gets sucked up and attempts to fit out of the washer jets.
