I've got a 325i Sport with an e36 3.0 M3 engine dropped in.

What sort of brake setup would people suggest? Are standard with decent fluid, pads and disks good enough, or do I really need to look at bigger calipers/disks? (16" wheels)

Also I read just now that the brakes are the same on e30's from the 318iS up to the 325, is that correct? So I have the same standard brakes as the 318is lol? In which case I guess an upgrade is definately required?

Cheers

If you have the engine from an e36 M3 would it not make sense to use the brakes from the same car?

They will need 17" wheels to clear

Bootyman has a nice set of willwoods for a heavily discounted price, have a look in the for sale section.

As for running standard brakes with a s50 engine...are you mental?

I'd suggest the rest of the front end running gear from the M3, bolts in fine, needs some odd bits to get the setup right but it's poss, std brakes on that should be fine as you have a much lighter body than the e-dirty-six.

HTH, Mark.

Yep. I have new 305mm disks with 4pot willwood callipers for £500. Bargain and you dont need to mod anything either cause i bought them for my Msport, but it meant loosing my dish on my rims, so i decided not to use them and keep my dish :D

thanks guys!

the brakes from the m3 aren't available hence why they werent swapped over.....also keeping 16's so not an option.
obviously the std brakes but with decent pads, disks and fluid is a daft option then

will look into that wilwood setup i think, is that the next best thing?

I'm not Mark no mate, but the car is purple!

bootyman where are you located (hoping not milan, italy :P)

Will probably have that kit off you then, the only thing I'm concerned about is I have 16" deep dish alloys as well and am worried they may not fit :(

Wont fit then mate cause the 4pot callipers are fat boys :( . To be honest you will struggle to get any decent after market brake setup on there with such deep rims. I had to have new wheels made tp speck when i decided to change to a bigger set up than i had :(

But Im guessing the Cossie 4pot is a bit lighter than the E36 M3 motor.
