Had a little tussle last night with a rather tasty Skyline R33 GTS (with a gtr bodykit, or thats what the owner said)

After 5 mins of following him, getting a bit bored at him hooning about after he overtook me like I was stood still, I decided to show him who is boss ;)

http://www.e30cosworth.co.uk/video/skyline-v-e30.3gp

The speedo was reading "off the clock" when i went past him (and that is 150 on the clock) winkeye winkeye winkeye

Stopped and had a chat with the owner of the 'liner too, got some of the usual excuses "its misfiring at 5500rpm, it doesn't boost properly, its not setup, i couldn't get grip (at 130mph no grip on a bone dry road? )

anyway, was my first kill, and I was chuffed :top: He said his speedo was reading 140 when we overtook him

All I can say is "Gwaaaaaaaaannnn ya fucker"

Im sorry but i dont think you were doing 140 or even 150. You only just changed up into 5th moments before overtaking. Surely you hadnt accelerated that quickly? 4th gear and your going to be doing around 120mph, and we all know they dont get to that speed without a fair bit more time!

Great vid though.

You must be running one trick motor!! And your final drive must be very long to get those speeds out of forth!

I always thought that doesnt matter how much power you have, if your gearing is set to "X" if you have 150bhp or 350bhp your only going to be able to pull the same top speeds in each gear (assuming you can max it in each gear) but it will obviously be less time the more power you have to get to those speeds. Is that correct?

I aggree about same top speeds in whatever gear nomatter how much power you have.

The more power, the less time to reach the speeds 8)

The final drive is from an E30 M3, not 100% sure what ratio it is tho :? Would be nice to know tho for sure :) and the top gear in my box is rather long aswell

the engine, was a 350bhp Cosworth YB engine, and after a little remap on saturday to gain some more power she is fooking flying once again 8) winkeye

Love it. That must be about 5 secs to 60 surely? On another note where do you host your .3gp files? they are massive when you convert them to avi or mpeg. Like a 400k file will turn into about 90 meg. perhaps its my free software thats poo in converitng them.

I stick my .3gp files on my webspace and let people view them with whatever software - quicktime and realplayer are good for this winkeye

Not done a timed run to 60 yet, might goto a quater mile day and see what she does, altho the 1/4 mile run bores me somewhat :(

I love that clip :)
And, how feasible/reliable is 350bhp from an m20?

A mates got a R33 that pulled a flat 14sec quarter to go up against first!
