Spent some time over at Gary's last night fitting a new fuel pump to his car- great fun!

Gary let me take some pics during the job, so i've written a guide (soon be in the technical articles section)

Anyways, we got it running, and I decided to make a quick video of the beast running-check it out!

no doubt Gary will be along soon enough to give you the lowdown on his baby....

Hey Hammo, you should've stopped to say hello!
She wasn't running right at F&M, was losing power at the top end but she did burble away quite nicely.

Neil, thanks for the comments & posting the vid. And of course for coming over on Friday - couldn't have done it without you (imagine me trying to puch her up the slope myself, nah  ). You also do a good job in 'bungs'... you can explain that one when you post the thread mate.

Unfortunately the vid is now out of date, was taken on Friday but on Saturday I chipped her... now you need to get another with her rev'n to 7-thou!

She is running really sweet now. Had her on the BMWCC stand at the Callander Classic Car Show yesterday (next year we should have a Zone stand, E30's are much more befitting a 'classic car show'...) On the way back had some fun with a Porsche 911 Carrera (F-reg) on the Aberfoyle to Strathblane road (you know it?), I couldn't get passed him but he couldn't get away either... saw him looking at me in his rear view mirror a couple of times (and his passenger turned to have a better look) - he seemed p*ssed, would've been even more p*ssed had he knew it was a 325!!! :D 8)
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
'89 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 - track, hillclimb & sprint car (yeeha!)
'08 Buell XB12Ss - American engineering at it's 'best'... good fun though

Hehe, i never saw you after that. Got a pic of your car in the main building. Looked sweet. I was sitting in the blue mini with the carbon bonnet, kit and 19's at the side of the road as we were waiting to get our ticket in as the guy was late.

Mod's (not necessarily done in this order):
Engine & transmission:
Big Bore Throttle Body
Platinum 4 spark plugs
CatCam 273
FSE Power Boost Valve
K&N 57i Induction Kit (to be replaced by BMC CDA kit)
Magnecor 6030S ignition leads
Rebuilt heads
Flywheel lightened & balanced
Chipped (E30Zone 'Wild' Chip)
6-branch SS manifold
Bespoke stainless steel full system
Short-shift

Suspension & brakes:
Front & rear Sparco upper strut braces
Spax PSX kit
Suspension bushes (ALL polysport or M3)
Dot 5.1 brake fluid
Drilled & grooved brake discs - front & rear
EBC Green Stuff brake pads all round
Goodridge SS brake hoses

Cosmetic:
E30 M3 Ciccoto half leather / motorsport cloth Recaro interior
Front arm rest
Leather handbrake grip & gaitor
M-tech leather gear knob
Sparco Lap3 steering wheel
AV3 Bodykit
Clear indicator lenses
Crystal / red tail lights
Mtech two piece spoiler (replica)
Techno-violet respray
Alpina rep' inlet manifold & rocker cover
Dare Supermesh 17" DTM replicas with SS rims (wearing Toyo T1-S 215/40x17)
Nakamichi CD400R head unit

That's it for now (except the aforementioned BMC CDA kit which I have but need inspiration on how to fit it into the available space!), other plans include a Sport close ratio gearbox & LSD, maybe port the heads & inlet manifold (increase the bore to match the BBTB), and... well if the tax man is good to me next year then maybe forced induction... yeah, yeah, yeah

Oh yeah, and I need to dye the carpets black to match the seats!

And maybe do something about the cr*ppy speakers...

And tidying up the engine bay sometime would be good...

Fixing those cracks on the dash... - damn Southern sunshine (she came from Bournemouth) wouldn't have that problem if she was Scottish!!! But there is something to say for these English girls

I can easily believe the Carrera having concerns... esp now she's chipped  good show dude!

Aberfoyle road is simply breathtaking, as was my run to moffat (via Peebles winkeye ) yesterday.

as for the fuel pump work-it wasnt hard really-spent more time talking bikes and crazy drives than fitting the fuel pump

I'll be over for another vid ASAP, esp now I have my dog back on the road

No pics but I'll get one.

It's an OE upgrade, cost ~£120 from the stealers 8O Couldn't find any breakers etc. with one...

Good on longer journeys & comes with an integrated cup holder :woohoo:

You can adjust the height a little when you fit it by deciding where to bolt it to the centre consul. But not much.

Comes from BMW, instructions included, doesn't take too long to fit.
