Hi guys n gals

My names winston....I used to own Mk1 clio 16v's...but syled in a german stylee..but got sick of the frenchness lol ..pics below

http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y1/Winston16V/

My old Clio williams hybrid pretty much rounded up FWD cars for me and not wanting to jump to 4WD straight away, I thought it would be rude not to buy a cheap rear wheeler to get me by.. while i rebuild my Mk1 Golf

I bought this 84 E30 323i Fitted with a 325i engine from ebay for £400 with 12months T&T...55k on the clock (Mots to prove) owned for 10 years by previous owner..... It's had a hard life but runs and drives ok ...The guy had 2 Other E30 BM's and seamed to know his stuff

Looks wise ...It's a joke, nothing abit of paint and a polish won't sort out, but thats not top of the list ...But im loving it's ratty look tbh

This is my everyday ride for now ...Once My Golf's sorted It will be stripped and turned into a track toy!!

Plans for now .....In no order or rush lol

Wheels ...50% sorted
Coilovers
Chrome bumpers
Front splitter
Smaller steering wheel
New trim ...hmmmm recaros
DIY respray
K&N
Sounds
Trackday

Few questions

How much does a 325i weigh?????
Does anyone make cheap coilovers (ie supersports etc?)

Cheers
Winston

PS ...been browsing for a few weeks and this place has been a god send

Hi Winston - I'm sure I recognise the Clio from F7power etc. (I've got Williams #0153).

Welcome, btw. Good luck with the 323/325. Looks like a later shell than '84? Certainly post-facelift.

Cheers,
Chris

You get this off Ebay?

There was a thread on here not long ago dicussing this particular car.

We don't think it's an '84 323i at all. For a starter it's got the body of a post '88 car with plastic bumpers and larger rear lights... What does the V5 say? Do the chassis and engine numbers match up? Something not right with it...

On a lighter note, I hope you have fun in it and pick up all the info you need from the Zone.

Good lcuk, and enjoy!

Hoodride.

Wheels ...50% sorted - You may find the ATS Cups won't fit over your front brakes without wide spacers. Are they ET35?
Coilovers KW do about the cheapest off the shelf ones for the e30. Other options are the weld on collars for the DIY route. GAZ are cheap if you avoid all of the optiona and just go for a height adjust kit. Be aware that you won't get proper coilovers on the rear of an e30 - you'll get a seperate uprated damper and an adjustable threaded spring perch for your rear spring. (Easier than the torsion bar spline faffing on your Clios though)
Chrome bumpers Won't fit on your face lift car unfortunately
Front splitter 318is splitter is the cheapest most effective clip on one.
Smaller steering wheel The world's your oyster
New trim ...hmmmm recaros Cloth Recaro's are very cheap. buy 2 passenger ones from a scrappy to avoid the mauled-by-a-dog bolster problem.
DIY respray Red Oxide? winkeye
K&N
Sounds See above
Trackday Best trackday mod you'll do is to fit some e30 M3 offset control arm bushes. That single mod will stop you having a boring understeery day. Do that and stick an LSD on and you'll wish you'd gone RWD sooner.

Good luck. :D

Winston ,re your respray there is a post somewhere where a 3251,i think, has been done in matt black.Car looks strangeley menacing and has got to be a cheapish option. Some one will correct me if im wrong but think its based on vW,s rat look.
