Whats the best LSD ratio for a 316i 1989, whenI say best I mean for going round and round and round but I'm sure you all know that.

A 3.91 would be ok.

A 3.91 is only OK, I had one in my previous car a 1990 316i. Because the 316i doesn't have much poke, you will notice the difference in ratios. The standard ratio is 4.10 so you need to balance you need for a LSD against the effect of the different ratio on your acceleration and driveability. You should try to hold out for a 4.10 LSD and preferably a small casing one, as there is no point in carrying around the extra weight from a large casing diff in a small engined E30. And don't forget to use the correct limited slip diff oil - Castrol SAF-XJ from tha main dealers.
