:D

Ok along with the overheating problem I posted in the E30 chat section here are a few other problems I have found....any advise I would be very grateful because as you may have guessed I am clueless!

The electric passenger mirror isn't working.

The central locking doesn't work. Lock the drivers door and the passenger door/boot stays unlocked. I then lock the boot, then lock the passenger door and 4-5 seconds later you here the whole system turning over and the passenger unlocks on its own.

The drivers seat is knackered. The seat back is at an angle, the right hand side leans back a hell of a way. I took the side panel off and undone the 2 screws at the bottom of the back panel but couldn't take that off because it seems to be glued at the top. They are leather recaro's by the way.

The Rev counter and fuel gauge light went off yesterday. Is that a one bulb replacement and easy to do?

The guys brother managed to snap the areil off as he was putting the spare springs in the boot. (Got a tenner back off the price off the car) Where is the best place to get a replacement electric ariel and how much am I looking at?

The Fog light and headlight on/off bulbs are not working. Are they an easy replacement job?

I think that's it for now.....once I have sorted the over heating problem out and these few bits I will be looking at sorting the poor dechroming job, the rust and poorly fitted kit but hey who never mind.

Cheers guys and gals

Central locking...never looked into it myself, but there's a giude on the main site.

Mirror, probably motor behind the glass, prise the triangle panel on the inside of the door off, and look to see if the connector is still connected.

The seat back comes off by undoing the 2 screws, and lifting the back upwards, there's 2 clips at the top, once off, you will see how it works, you also need to prise the tilt levers/covers off. Once you have the back off, at the base of the seat, look for 2 large screws, and check for tightness, they may have already come loose and fallen out though, but from what you describe, it does sound like a bit of welding is needed.

Fuel guage and rev counter is one bulb, it's a 3w capless type bulb, same type as used in the sidelights but 3w instead of 5w.

Aerials are availble from GSF/ECP also, not expensive either.

Headlighs foglight bulb...do you mean the panel above the switch? This is a bit fiddly, you need to drop the panle above the knees, and put your hand up to undo the panel.

Hope that helps!

Hi - check out the zone tech advice on c/locking, particularly repairing the fusible link in the c/locking control unit. my c/locking symptoms were similar to yours, and the fusible link had come unsoldered. Careful re-solder and all works fine now.
cheers
