my old tech one sport was pushing about 180 bhp and 50hp of nitrous so a total of 230bhp, however due to the nature of nitrous ging a 50hp increase through put the rev range it was faster than an engine tuned to 230 bhp car if you follow !!

that used to run 14.7 on a regular basis and the quickest was a 14.5. By droping the rear diif ratio to a 3.91 from the 3.64 would have probably given me regular 14.5

the M3 with 265bhp and 315ft-lb and 50hp nitrous ran a 13.5 once but the qickest recored slip which i have shows 13.9, again ths was with long gearing, 5sp OD bod and 3.25 diff, if i changed the diff to say a 3.64 (which i will when the car is done) i would be closer to a 13.3

my aime is to be in the mid 12 next year !!

what distracts a lot of peopleon the 1/4 srtip is the car next to them, you want to beat them !! i always launched my car when i was ready, i never aimed to beat the car next to me, but to beat the clock. you reaction time will be longer, but the acutal timer for the run will ot start till YOU leave the line , you could sit there for 5 seconds, but that wont affect your time.

only in true competition do you have to launch as as close to the ocar text to you to win, in real racing you could launch first, but still not "win"

any way, i'll run the IS for the hell of it !!

There's no reason why not, I don't think you'd hurt it.

It's the same as nail it off a roundabout onto a motorway for example!?

Give it a go mate, it's quite a buzz.

my 325 with air filter, cam, FSE, remap & scorpion system only did 15.9, it was a blindingly hot day and the car was running in full street spec, the boot was even half full of crud.

I was disappointed personally

lol ali winkeye

i am not too bothered about showing my car which is just as well as its a tech 1.

just wanna socialise and have a go on the 1/4 mile for the experience of it, not bothered about times too much but it would be a bonus to get a good time on the go.

do we get to do burn outs to warm the tyers up winkeye

yeah, other than giving them a brief spin up to get any crap off there's little point doing a standing burnout for 20 secs on road tyres.

Dropping the rear pressures a bit helps off the line traction, but don't go nuts as the flip side to this is more resistance when actually going down the 1/4. 15psi or something in the rear is prob enough. Make sure you or someone has a foot pump for the journey home though :D

if my car is ready (debatable at the moment, may be there in a diesel pug 406... ) then i'll give it a go! would be rude not to i reckon!! especially as my baby brother has the fastest 1/4 mile time in my family in his polo coupe gt. this is cos he's the only one to have done a 1/4 mile yet!!! time to dethrone him!!!! :D

I just want to have a go, with the auto the times will probably all be the same each run so only need one shot.

Doesnt matter about cutting a perfect light as someone said as the timing beams only start once you start moving to break them.
