hey pepps

im gonna get my subframe and trailing arms bushes done next weekendImage.

since the whole back end of the car going to dismanteled (sp?) should i upgrade the brakes line to braided? easy access to..

but i saw a post on here that you have to change them every 18months thats to much hassle ( i know its an important part but if the stock ones can last longer why not keep stock?) is it any point to upgrade if you have to change them in 18 months??

any thoughts?

btw im doing powerflex bushes Image

I did Braided on my cab. They do make a difference, firming things up a bit. Goodrige are lifetime guaranteed - to me that means I do not have to change them every 18 months...

More generally, according to my local (trusted) garage, and also (cough) Car Mechanics magazine, the E30 is becoming well known now for the ends of the stock flexible brakehoses corroding just at the point where they join to the brakeline, and therefore failing the MoT. They are a pig to change over, so if you have the chance to replace them whilst doing another job, then do it! My mechanic told me that testers are being alerted to this and are looking out for it.

let me say this!!!,if your hose is gonna burst, its gonna burst, weather its braided or not! unless you inspect them everyday your not gonna see it coming!!! i've had braided on most of my cars, and my bike! ive never had to change them,if your going to get them you have to get good one's,earls performance are the best ive had, when you buy them from earls they have a clear plastic cover along the all along the hose over the braid to stop them from being weathered and stones etc.. you get what you pay for i suppose!
