im gonna remove these over the next couple of weeks to paint them.
i want to spray them black and then sand the bmw bits off to reveal the silver underneath.

i would like any info as i know a few on here have done it already
on what paint to use and if poss a sort of step by step guide on the best way to do it.

ive heard about something called hammerite. what is this?
can any paint be used and do you just use normal sand paper on a block to sand off the raised bmw bits?

any help and advice appreciated

cheers eun :D

VHT isn't needed on the rocker and inlet as they don't get hot enough.

Gloss paints burn easily so avoid those, I used Satin black spray and it works brilliantly.

Make sure the metalwork is degreased and as clean as poss then prime it with a weld primer (it etches into the ally so it doesn't flake off) then several coats of satin black.

Cheers,
