I challenge any standard(ish) 2.5 to beat a 14.7 1/4. As done by my measly Jap Crap Civic. I'll be impressed actually if a standard(ish) M3 will do that.

I don't suppose they'll let me run that weekend though!

dave

theres no way a 2.5 turd will get anywhere near that time. no mater what driver.

only a properly tuned 2.7 etc.

Karan's 2.7 would have around that time, so that's basically what you are saying.

A 200+bhp M3 might do too.

My 2.5 Touring I estimate would have been high 15's. But you can't drift a Civic and it has no class etc I don't give a sh*t!

Maxfield i reckon your old mans car will do a 14.7 or something there or there abouts. If you check this guys car out he does a 14.2 and i might be wrong but your dads isnt a 2.5 is it?? So im thinking a 14.7 is about right.

To put these E30's into perspective i was running 15.2's in wintry conditions (no traction) in my Williams clio and was completely standard bar the rear seat taken out. Those times were beating CTR's Focus's ST170's, Pug Gti's.

From my own experiences its probably best to go there with no preconceptions of "times" that you think your going to do and just have fun. then once you've done your first trip you can then think of times to beat, performance gains to be had.

Best of luck

Very true.

You'd be suprised how much driver involvement there is in driving down a straight bit of tarmac.

Too much wheelspin and you're fu*ked, not enough power and you've bogged down and sh*t out also. The limit of adhesion is the key term!

Maxfield, driven well with 270bhp you should see low 14's.

The thing is Maxfield, their gets a point where you need to SIGNIFICANTLY jump up in horse power to even shave tenths of a second off. Because that guys running approx 230bhp and does a 14.2, and your old mans running approx 270 doesnt automatically mean your going to knock off half a second.

As sad as it may sound its quite scientific doing quarter miling. there are many possible variables to take into consideration. Probably one of the reasons why people get sooooooooo addicted to it!

Oh, my god.....

It would lower the centre of gravity by 0.3% though!

What a helmet, someone needs to go to Physics lessons. Maybe if he was to run 55/20/15 tyres his car would weigh loads less! :D
