Yes mate, the car would be all over the place without them.johnl320 wrote:sorry adam ,but are you saying all 320's have rear anti roll bars??
I'm pretty sure all E30's have them but of varying thicknesses.

I'm on my third E30 , two of which were 320i and one 316, none of which have had rear anti roll bars, i think they must be an option on less powerful E30s ,do you think it would make much difference fitting one, i use lots of country roads on my way to work and like to scare myself
cheers, john

Get some ARB's on there mate! Some of the guys on here have got Eibach ARB's and think they are excellent! I must admit that they are on my shopping list too!
my 320i deffinitely does not have a rear roll bar. i was under it today. has a skinny ass front one, but nathan on the back!! i've read a lot about needing to stiffen up the connecting joints when you thicken up the roll bars. if i've not got one on the rear, will i have points at all to anchor it too?
cheers.

That's shocking, I didn't know some didn't come with a rear ARB.
I took mine for a drive once when I was upgrading to the Eibach ones, I took the rear bar off and took it for a drive to see what it was like beofre fitting hte new Eibach one. I thought I was going off the road.
I'd say get some on there even if they're stock 325 ones it will make a world of difference.

No rear anti-roll bar on my 318 either.
Does the Eibach kit come with all the mounts too, as I don't have these either? I think to add one you need the 2 mounts on the bodyshell, the 2 mounts on the trailing arms and the short link bars + nuts etc.

STABILIZER SUPPORT 33551129195 x2
STABILIZER LINK 33551126932 x2
SWING SUPPORT BRACKET 33321127717 x2
(for 325 but they are all the same)
It's also recommended to weld little tabs onto the mounting points on the trailing arms, they don't look the strongest of things.

We dictated no rear-arb for the SELOC series last year and I think only 1 or 2 had them installed when people bought them (318's/320's). I don't think the absence of a rear-arb is that unusual.
