HI

I was making an attempt to get my engine bay on my iS( -the painted red part, noit the engine, as this has been removed) looking like new, and removng the dirt off it

i tried the meguiars shampoo but to no avail.... then it got dark

i presseure washed it but obviously can not get it steam cleaned as the car has no engine... :mad:

i wanna get it lookin mint before the s38 goes in,,,, anyone know any good product or technique??

Started trying to do mine, just used gunk on it then pressure wash it. Going to do this again and then try some kind of polish, maybe even T-Cut.

does this damage the paint though?

use gunk and a stiff brush (like a paint brush). work it in with the brush and leave it for abit and them wash it off with soap and water. worked really well on mine! :cool:

don't think so, if you want to be ultra safe halfords do an engine detailer kit by co2 or something that worked on my *cough* e36...

Gunk would probably work okay, but it stinks big stylee :puke:

I swear by the Auto Glym Engine & Machine cleaner. It's water based, so doesn't stink, and cut's through the oily film you get in the engine bay really easily. Use an old toothbrush for the nooks and crannies, rinse with water or just wipe dry with an old towel. Follow up with a drop of polish for a nice shine :lol:
