irishe30 wrote:ok started on this this morning and it took the guts of the whole day, i removed the sunroof head covering to expose the hex nuts, removed the hex nuts, removed the sunroof, with this off i could actually see the drain holes at the back of the car, these were the ones that were blocked, particularly the one on the back left. finally i unblocked the back left drain hole with a coat hanger, poured water in and hey presto it drains to above the rear wheel like it should!!!!! i flushed it a few times !!! After this i flushed all the drains, sure why not while im at it! Replaced the sunroof and adjusted it to a new height, not perfect, but better than before,,,,,,,,so i thought id try the sunroof with a garden hose and see for sure than the water coming in was draining through the holes, i check the car AND THERES MORE WATER IN THERE NOW THAN EVER BEFORE.......WHAT THE f!!
The sunroof drains were cleaned and draining when i poured water in and tested them!
The sunroof is now more flush than ever before!!
SO HOW IS THERE WATER STILL GETTING INSIDE.......?????
This is a total embarressment to any efforts made!
BEFORE
CLIPS REMOVED FROM SUNROOF LINING
HEX BOLTS REMOVED TO REMOVE SUNROOF COMPLETELY (3 PER SIDE)
NOW, SEE THIS BAR AT THE BACK, SHOULD THIS BE ATTACHED TO THE SUNROOF, I TOOK ANOTHER PICTURE ALSO OF SOME SORT OF BAR WITH A CONNECTOR AND IM UNSURE IF ITS MEANT TO CONNECT TO THIS BAR AT THE BACK????
HERES THE BAR AT THE BACK
HERES THE LOOSE BAR ATTACHED TO THE SUNROOF ASSEMBLY BUT NOT ATTACHED TO ANYTHING AT THE REAR.....SO WHATS IT FOR???
AFTER SHOT-MUCH BETTER.....OR SO I THOUGHT
CAN SOMEBODY PLZ TELL ME WHY WATERS STILL COMING IN????
Sunroof leak still unresolved even after cleaning drains

If I am correct, there are 4 holes running in total, one for each pillar. ( A&C )
As u would have notice - the seal around the roof is not exactly "submarine hatch" watertight and hence the above drains are required. HOWEVER, I do not think a garden hose replicate correctly the amount of rain u will encounter. ie. ur hose is dishing too much water, more than what the 4 drains can handle.
I suggest u make sure all 4 drains are unblocked and fit all bits back as per original and test in real weather or much less water from the hose.
good luck.

ALSO
See this bar,,,,,its like a crossbar and its located at the back near the rear drains, but its stuck there all the time, ive been told it should lie behind the sunroof to collect water and distribute it to the side channels, when the sunroof slides back its meant to slide over this cross bar, can anyone tell me where i should relocate this, as its obviously the last problem. can anyone send me a pic of where their crossbar gutter is located so i can do the same to mine??
Its lodged at the back as u can see!!

Sunroof still leaking, but slightly, alot less than before i cleaned the drains. Im told it may be due to this cross bar gutter seen in the picture located at the back near the drains. Im told that it should lie under the rear portion of the sunroof and distribute water to the side gutters. The sunroof apparently slides over this crossbar gutter.
CAN SOMEONE TELL ME:
IS THIS TRUE?
WHERE SHOULD IT BE LOCATED?
BETTER STILL CAN SOMEONE SHOW ME A PIC OF WHERE THEIR CROSS BAR GUTTER IS?
